It's Time to Upgrade

The energy and focus that has gone into the technical aspects of the Recovery Bill has hit me with the revelation that, "Wake up America...it's time to upgrade!"

For the last decade or so it seems we have been slogging through the silt at the bottom of a pond when it comes to thinking about innovation and forward thinking.

Sure there were many advances in computing, electronic devices, surveillance internet communication...but most of them seem to be all kinds of innovative ways to sell even more stuff and clutter up our lives with ADVERTISEMENTS for just about everything you could think and some you wouldn't have.

The quality of other aspects of our lives have not been improving, however, and it's time to formulate new ways of looking at the problems we have been ignoring and letting build up into crises.

  1. I'm pushing the idea that doctors and vets get low cost (1%) loans to upgrade the equipment in their office like digital scales, digital x-ray machines, etc. I figure better equipment should make healthcare cheaper and more accurate.

  2. I think this is a good idea. I also like the idea of more clinics run by paraprofessionals such as the one my daughter and I have been going to for 15 years.

The person who sees us is a Physicians Assistant, very good and experienced. His work is done under the auspices of one of the best pediatricians in Texas.

In the few instances when my daughter had serious emergencies, he was able to get the Dr. on the phone immediately, give us the Dr.'s instructions to go to the hospital, and the Dr. met us when we got there.

I think the Veterinarian field could do with clinics like these. The P.A. is able to spend more time with each patient, and over time becomes very familiar with the patients and is available locally.

This set up inspires confidence in the health care professional and provides comfort for the patient, be it human or animal.
